Evoque Coming Soon .............

The Range Rover Evoque will be brought into India as a completely built unit, being shipped directly from Land Rover’s Hailwood factory in the United Kingdom.
While Tata-JLR do have plans of assembling the Range Rover Evoque in India through the completely knocked down(CKD) kit route and thus price it very competitively, it will be some while before Tata-JLR actually begin CKD operations for the Range Rover Evoque. Until then though, the radical Evoque SUV will be imported into India in CBU form. Incidentally, the demand for the Evoque SUV is extremely high worldwide and due to this, Land Rover is struggling to meet the massive demand of more than 20,00 pre-orders for this SUV, which has just began to be delivered to customers in the United Kingdom from early September.

The demand for the Evoque in the Indian market is also expected to be stiff even though the SUV will command a significant premium over the likes of the locally assembled Audi Q5 and the recently launched BMW X3 Crossover. Prices in India are expected to begin at around INR 50 Lakhs for the base diesel variant, going all the way up to INR 63 Lakhs for the top end petrol engined Evoque. Now, that much money puts the Evoque price tag much higher than the competition, but the tremendous road presence of the Evoque is said to be its biggest USP apart from its off roading cred.

The Evoque could even reach India as it is being pegged as a “global car” and will be exported to over 160 countries worldwide from its production base in Halewood. Prices for the Evoque haven’t been revealed yet but the Evoque will make its public debut at the Paris Motor Show.

While we aren’t certain about this one, Land Rover could also offer a three door Evoque for the Indian market although the five door version is a certainty. Engine options for the Evoque include both petrol and diesel engined versions. A 2.2 Liter, 190 Bhp common rail turbo diesel engine will be the choice of the diesel power plant while a 2.2 Liter, 240 Bhp inline four cylinder petrol engine will be the petrol engine option for the Evoque. Both the petrol and diesel engined Evoque will be available in three variants, Pure, Prestige and Dynamic. The wait begins.
The car will imported as a completely built unit and will attract 110 percent import duty. Tata Motors is also expanding its dealership network for Jaguar and Land Rover cars in India looking at the increasing demand in luxury vehicles.
