“The 12C GT3 will from be supplied with the 12C’s carbon MonoCell And The Same steering wheel design employed by Lewis Hamilton in his MP4-24 Formula 1 car. Plus, We Are Working closely with the Formula 1 suppliers, past and present: Akebono, Mobil 1, McLaren Electronic Systems, Ricardo and Michelin, for example. This blend of road cars and Formula 1 technology and experience will from be a great advantage to anyone racing a 12C GT3 in 2012. “

In Formula 1, McLaren has won 170 races: better than one in four races in which has been competing since 1966, and more race wins per season than rivals compete (3.75). This has resulted in eight wins ‘Championships and 12 Drivers’ Championship Constructors. influence McLaren and Ron Dennis’ in Formula 1 has been real. In 1981 (first season as team principal Dennis), McLaren MP4 / 1 became the first winner of a race car that never display-based carbon fiber monocoque chassis.
This revolutionary design, inspired by aerospace technology, has since become a standard chassis structure for team racing: lightweight, safe, strong, and dimensionally predictable.
McLaren Road Car Heritage
1993 – 1997: McLaren F1: McLaren F1, and in many eyes fixed, definite sports car: The first road car with carbon fiber construction.
Only 106 examples of this iconic supercar made (72 street cars, 28 race cars, six prototype), but the recent auction prices for the standard F1 road car F1s between £ 2 – £ 2,500,000 price, almost five times the original retail : appreciation unheard of in modern cars. It was also the last car the right way to win Le Mans and the first to achieve this feat since the 60′s.

McLaren F1 at Le Mans
1995: with F1 GTR driven by JJLehto, Yannick Dalmas and Masanori Sekiya, McLaren win on debut; four other F1s finished 3, 4, 5 and 13.
1996: six F1 GTR LM ‘is over 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 11.
1997: two ‘longtail finished 2 and 3.
1998: a ‘longtail’ finished fourth, with two drawn after the accident.
